Hello, dear friends. We had very little snow all Winter and now Mother Nature is making up for it. We had quite a bit yesterday and we are due for more tonight.
My #1 just called me to tell me that she and Adorable Jonathon were recognized from my blog by a lovely lady named a Katy. A big hello to you Katy and maybe I will get to meet you on my next trip to Big D.

I mentioned in January that I decided to join Weight Watchers. I figure if it's good enough for Oprah, it's good enough for me. A few readers have written to me inquiring how I was doing with it, so here's the rundown.
Before I started, I looked Atkins, Weight Watchers, and Jenny Craig. I tried Atkins a few years ago but I just didn't feel right on it. I felt full but I also felt thick as a brick. Jenny Craig is very popular with my Sista and a couple of friends. I just didn't want to be bothered by buying the food all the time.

There were a few things that I needed in a diet. I wanted to have flexibility in food choices, have a daily occasional glass or two of vino without guilt, use Cremora in my coffee, and lastly, I did not want to be weighed down by carrying around a food scale.
Amazon
Speaking of scales, a few days before I started with WW, I purchased this scale. Somehow our other scale was thrown out our bathroom window.
It's a mystery to me.

Weight Watchers works on a point system. There are multiple foods that are 0 points. Almost all fruits and veggies are 0 points and to be honest, I incorporate as many of these as I can.
Spoiler alert: I'm a creature of habit. I basically eat the same thing every day, and I usually order the same thing at all of our usual restaurants. This drives my ex-chef husband batty.
Have you started to nod off yet?
I can go to meetings if I choose to, but I haven't felt the need. There is enough support online. Every day there are half a dozen success stories on my Instagram.
I am allotted 23 points a day, and if I don't use all of them, they roll over to the next day. I also get a few extra points for working out which is very seldom.

WW made me think re-think my food choices. I ended up asking myself the question is this food worth the points? For instance, I hate swallowing large pills so I was using up about 6-8 points on all my gummy vitamins, between a Multi, Calcium, Vitamin C and a couple of others that I can't remember. It must have been the one that is supposed to help with my memory.
This is what I eat for breakfast. I swapped out my flavored yogurt and packaged oatmeal for Greek Yogurt unsweetened, fruit, and my mini muffin. This breakfast is 1.5 points, so I have plenty to go. It may not look it but it keeps me full until lunchtime.
I discovered a few things about Greek yogurt. I actually really like the taste which was shocking to me because I love my sweets. Also, if you are like me and have trouble swallowing pills -
use yogurt. It works like a charm.
Even before I joined WW, I ate a salad for lunch at home.
Now I leave the croutons off and add red/yellow peppers and carrots for crunch.
The Mister and I go out to lunch on weekends a lot.
This is what our table usually looks like.
I never go out without my secret weapon. Walden Farms Italian Calorie Free dressing is delish. My grocery store is usually out of this dressing, so I end up ordering it by the case through Amazon. I found that little nifty travel container on Amazon too.

During my afternoon slump, I used to have a cup of sugar-free hot chocolate and a diet ice cream bar.
I now munch on clementines all day long.
Our grocery store sells them peeled.
No hard labor for this girl.
And my hot drink of choice during the day is now tea, which I have with a mini muffin.
Speaking of muffins, these little darlings are 1.5 points each.
You can find the recipe here.
The Mister likes to add fresh berries to the mix.
I don't bake them because I'm not allowed to go near the stove.
It's 5:00 somewhere!
This is my early evening snack.
For dinner, we either have Weight Watchers 0 point Turkey Chili
... or WW 0 Point Vegetable Soup.
The Mister adds more tomato and some chicken and replaces the cabbage with spinach.
I know that you are wondering how much weight I lost.
I am 8 pounds thinner than I was on January 1st.
8 pounds with very little exercise.

I'll get into my MOB dress if it's the last thing I do!
Have you ever done Weight Watchers?
Any tips for me?
Until next time...
