The Friday Files

I hope that you had a good week.  All is well here.  Thank you for your feedback on pet insurance.  We decided to get it and are still researching which lucky company will get our business.

Lucy's life is full of firsts.  Here she is, taking her first car ride, and she seems to enjoy it.  I would, too, if I was tucked into a comfy car seat and bundled in soft blankies.

Have you ever been to Ireland?  My parents took us when I was around 12.  I didn't like it, but then again, I didn't like anything at that age.  My beef was that it didn't have American TV.

I missed my boyfriend, Bobby Sherman.
If you don't know who Bobby is, you're too young to read this blog.

Take a tour of this dreamy Dallas home which was designed by a Mother-Daughter team from one of my favorite design houses, Dunbar Road.

This Arkansas beauty was designed by Providence Design.  Click here for a walk-through.

This gorgeous home designed by Jessica Bradley and Frank G. Neely Design is not to be missed.

Have you traveled to Ireland?  If you have not and would like to, here are the best places to visit.  I'm thinking of giving it another chance now that Bobby Sherman is out of the picture.

Here are 24 Best Food and Drink Books of the Spring.

Impossible!

Do you consider yourself lucky?
This explains the science behind luck.

We are three episodes into Apples Never Fall, and we are loving it.  Annette Bening and Sam Neill steal the show with their stunning performances.

Here is a list of shows that are coming to Masterpiece in 2024.

It's my lucky day on Sunday because one of my favorite shows will be back!

  2. I live in Seattle. Here Come the Brides was a favorite show growing up. He was cute, but I was all about Jason Bolt.

  3. If you haven't been to Ireland since you were 12, you need to go again! We went last fall, and loved it. After a few days in Dublin, we went west to counties Galway and Mayo where my family is from. We even got to the little hamlet where my grandmother grew up, and saw my great-great grandfather's farmhouse. We then went down the west coast and got a little farther than the magnificent Cliffs of Moher. At some point we'll go back and see the rest. The Ireland of today is prosperous and thriving in every way. The people are friendly and the food was good everywhere.

  4. We just visited Ireland and Scotland last September and it was wonderful. We especially loved Galway. It's easy to get around by public transportation from city to city and it's all clean and adventurous. - That Lucy is so precious!!!!

  10. I love call the midwife! One of my all-time favorites. If you have not watched it yet, I highly recommend Drops of God on Apple TV. It’s so good. Obviously very different from call the midwife, but equally entertaining in my opinion.

  11. Apples Never Fall looks soooooo good, but we're leaving tomorrow for a week in Ireland. My local library branch has a copy, so I might have to go get this and stash it in my travel backpack, and watch it when I get back!

  15. I just want to squeeze those cheeks! ❤️. We will be in Ireland before too terribly long, and I am wondering about doing that Ancestry DNA thing. I have resisted because I don't want any unsavory strangers turning up on the doorstep. not that I would be related to any you understand. I would, however, like to know if I have any Irish relatives since it seems possible given some of the names in the family tree.

  17. My husband and visited Ireland last April and absolutely loved it. The people are so sweet and the countryside is beautiful. We were blessed with sunny weather and my husband cam We travelled from Dublin and around the southern loop to Galway. We indulged in Murphy's ice cream, salmon, potatoes, and brown bread slathered in that delicious Irish butter. Can't wait to go again.

  18. Oh my goodness! I loved. Bobby Sherman, too - had his Tiger Beat posters plastered on my bedroom walls!! My dad had been transferred to Seattle when Here Comes the Brides was on and I loved Jeremy and Candy! Too funny!

On another note - My hubby and I took care of our sweet Lucy last August while her mommy and daddy spent 10 days in Ireland. Nine months later (in mid May) her baby brother or sister is due to make a grand entrance! ☘️❤️☘️

  19. Yes, we traveled to Ireland in 2016 and it was a wonderful trip. If you go to the Cliffs of Moher, do the walking tour from Doolin, rather than just taking the bus to the visitors center. It is spectacular. Pat Sweeney, a Doolin native leads the walk, giving an interesting narrative along the way and provides a return bus ride back for a nominal fee. You do have to book ahead. www.doolincliffwalk.com
