Mother's Day Gift Guide

 

We began our weekend on Friday by taking Lucy and her Mama out to lunch.  We went to Bistro 31, one of my favorites.  The day was picture-perfect, and we sat out on the covered patio.  It worked out to be the ideal location because it held a direct escape route in case things hit the fan.

Did you have a good weekend? Ours was productive. We ran some errands, and the Mister did a lot of cooking. We are bringing some meals down to our girls and AJ. And while we're at it... I'm going to squeeze in some Lovey time with Lucy and Lemmy.

Pillow Talk

 

In case you are wondering, we are still on baby watch.  Every morning, we get up at 5AM, and the first thing we do is check our Mama-to-be's location.  We talk to her every evening, and she is feeling great.  She told me that she loves being pregnant, but she can't wait to meet Lucy.

It has been warm enough to spend some time out on the patio.  Nobody is happier than Miss Millie.

I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We had a fun one.  The Adorables, my favorite son-in-law's delightful family, joined us.  They also brought an honored guest, Aunt Mermie, from Canada.

Did you have a good weekend?  Our weather was picture-perfect.  We relaxed on Saturday, and on Sunday, our #2, her friend, and Lemmie came for lunch.  Our #1 and AJ couldn't make it because they were moving into their new home.

Sorry, I am posting this later than usual, but I just arrived home from the Met Ball.  My formalwear was on the hot and scratchy side, but I think I made a statement.  Although I did hear a few catty comments.  Not to worry, I didn't wear it all night.

I hope you had a good week.  Ours was a rather soggy one.  Lots of rain but it didn't bother us because we just planted flowers.  My pickleball clinic was canceled, so I had some extra time to work on some posts.

I celebrated a birthday this week.  I am not going to tell you which one.  But I will tell you that I share my day with one of my faves, Carol Burnett.  I will also tell you that the Mister hit it out of the ballpark with his gift this year.  But you have to read through this post before I tell you what it is.

I hope that you had a productive week.  All is well here.  I had a delightful lunch with a dear friend on Wednesday.  A couple of old tennis buddies asked me to join them in a pickleball clinic next week, which should be fun.  I have never won any prizes for my hand-and-eye coordination, so we'll see how this turns out.

The Mister and I had a lunch date with the Adorables.  They had to cancel because they were still testing positive after having Covid weeks before.  So the Mister and I got some errands done and enjoyed a nice lunch.

The Mister and I went to see this movie based on the book A Man Called Ove.  I read it eight years ago and loved it.  Many people will say the film is not as good as the book, but I thought it was equally entertaining.  Tom Hanks can do no wrong in my book.

We took our #1 to lunch, and she came back to the house to help me with a project.  More deets on Monday.

Happy New Year!  I hope that you all enjoyed your holidays.  Did you have to fly anywhere?  I've never been so happy about having our family within driving distance.  It looked like a nightmare at the airports.

Books and Boardgames Gift Guide

Welcome to my last post of 2022.  I don't know about you but this year flew by for me.  This year has been kind to us. Our biggest blessing is having our #1 and Adorable Jonathon back in Texas. I love having all my chickadees within driving distance.

Here's a birdseye view of what I am up against in Emptynesterville.  My friend Lori dropped off this delicious box of Godiva chocolates.  Evidently, the Mister has been snacking on them. He then did his best to cover up his crime.

Welcome back to my blog.  Did you have a good weekend?  We've had some cold, rainy weather, so we hunkered down and took care of some work around the house.  

This is our first Christmas in our house.  Last year, we were in San Miguel and the only decorating that was done was outside.  We are trying to determine whether to get a big tree or a small one for a tabletop.  If you are wondering why, see above photo.

Welcome back to my blog.  Did you have a good weekend?  Saturday was rainy, so we stayed home, and I caught up on laundry and Real Housewives.  Sunday, our #2 took us to lunch at one of her favorite places, Bellagreen.  The food is so delish.  We then topped the afternoon off at my beloved Homegoods.  I didn't come home with any goodies because most of the inventory was Christmas-related, and it was too early for me to think about decorating.
