Coming Up For Air

Hello dear friends.  Just checking in.  This storm is a real doozie!  Tons of wind mixed with sporadic snow clusters, and it is still going strong.  I don't think I got 10 minutes sleep last night due to the howling winds.

Not me but this is how I feel.
I should look this good.

My sweet Chili was terrified of the storm so I let her sleep with me.  The Mister was out of town so I was grateful for the company.    It was the first time that I let her have a sleepover with me and she is actually a good little sleep buddy.  No snoring or moving around.

Chowdah asked when it was his turn for a sleepover.   I didn't want to try to explain to him that there is a difference between sleeping with an 18 lb. dog and one that weighs 75 lbs.

We lost power during the night for about 6 hours.  When I got up, the power was off.  I craved a nice hot cup of joe.  As soon as my feet hit the floor, the power came back on.  I ran downstairs, turned the coffee maker on, and 4 minutes later the power went off again.  It was just enough time to brew a cup.   Praise the Lord!

The power is on and the house is just warming up now.  I have the TV on and all the major networks are on Operation Snow Watch Detail.  So glad to have the weather peeps filling me in that we are now experiencing snow and wind.

Stay warm!

Preparing for the B-word

Good morning, dear friends.  I don't have to tell you what's on its way to my neck of the woods.  It ain't gonna be pretty.  According to the weather people, I will be smack dab in the middle of it.

And speaking of  the weather peeps, I don't know what I'm not looking forward to the most - the actual storm or the monotonous drone of the weather peeps trying to scare the bejeezus out of us.  They are now calling it a Nor'beaster.   The weather peeps have the nerve to take over all the major networks and preempt all my favorite shows.  Why can't they all meet over at the Weather Channel and talk about it over there?  How can I face the worst storm in history without my Kathie Lee and Hoda?   Or my news sources Access Hollywood and Inside Edition?

And if you live on the South Sho-wah and need to go to the grocery sto-wah,  you are safe to go today.  We were at Stop&Shop yesterday with a hundred thousand other hysterical people buying up every battery and water bottle in sight.

That's it for now.  I will report in tomorrow (hopefully).  In the meantime, hope this brings a smile to your face.

Stay Safe!

A Couple of Movies on a Snowy Day

Good morning, dear friends.  The Mister and I were snowbound yesterday.  It actually was not so bad.  The doggies were in their glory having Mommy and Daddy home with them all day.

Chowdah and Chili love playing in the snow.  Chili won't venture out in the rain, but she loves the snow.

Life is always easier around here when Chow is worn out.

We watched two movies and started a mini series.

This one was a disappointment to me.  Great cast, though.  I think that it would have made a better Broadway play than movie.

I didn't mind spending two hours with Ryan Reynolds on a snowy day.  However, I wasn't impressed with the movie.

Jackpot!!!  This mini-series, based on one of Philippa Gregory's books, is the perfect remedy for a snowy day.  The Northeast is looking into the eyes of a blizzard on Monday night and I don't care now that I have this show to keep me company.  Now all I have to do is hope that the electricity stays on.

On another note,  is anybody as sick as I am of all the deflated balls jokes?  The comedians are having an absolute field day, no pun intended.  I am looking forward to next Sunday for two reasons:  yummy food and great commercials.

Happy Sunday!
