Whenever I go away for a few days I ask a friend to be on call to assist my beloved SWMBO as needed. Stuff still breaks but it doesn't have to wait for me to get home. I do the same for friends who may be travelling.<br /> My son lives in San Diego. You can't protect them from all the things they manage to get themselves into accidentally or not. It bogs the mind. All I can do is relinquish all over to the Master. I used to send the same kind of texts then something miraculous happened.....their frontal lobes kicked in and suddenly I'm just a fountain of wisdom and knowledge. It is a huge boost that the daughter is pregnant and whether it's hormones or just the nurturing instinct that caused some sympathetic gene to engage, she's all about asking my opinion and input on just about everything. She even calls now for no reason at all. Shocking. And the son is finishing grad school and actually seeks counsel on all things job hunting. It truly is a miracle that somehow the mister and I seemed to have purchased a clue or two just in time for the kids to benefit from our sage advice.
