The Friday Files

Hello, dear friends.  Are you happy that it's Friday?  I am.  But I'm  even more excited about the fact that it will officially be Spring in 18 days.

I took a couple of pics on my walk yesterday.

I ran into some neighbors on my stroll.
They weren't in the mood to talk, though.

Do you see what I see?
It makes me so happy!

*****

Speaking of happy, if this bedroom were mine, I would wake up with a big ol' smile on my face every morning.  Lots more stunning bedrooms can be found here.

*****

Tory Burch has tapped its new foldable ballet flat as the ultimate walking shoe.  I never thought that their regular flat shoe was comfy, but I may have to give these a whirl.

*****

This is Ember.  It is a coffee cup new on the market that is sold at Starbucks.  For a mere $150 buckaroos, Ember can be yours.  You may have to wait awhile because they are sold out in most stores.  For $300, you could buy me one too.

*****

Woohoo!  TJX Cos. is opening 1800 new stores!  They are also opening a couple of Home stores that will be different than my beloved Homegoods

I knew 2017 was going to be a great year!

*****

Feast your eyes on this renovated 19th Century dairy barn which was moved from Montana and reassembled stone by stone in Wyoming as a home.

I would definitely mooooove in.

*****

Wowza!
This is some bathroom!

You can tour the rest of Bill and Giuliana Rancic's Chicago pad here.

I've got good news for all you gardeners out there.  It's not only good for you physically but mentally, as well.

Do you want to know some of this beautiful lady's beauty secrets?  I've got them right here.
Your welcome.

I follow Grapevine Interiors on Instagram.  They are a local full-service design firm.  I love everything they do.

They are coming out with a line of therapeutic dog beds.  You can find out more info here: louisa@grapevineinteriors.com.

What a fiasco that Oscar show turned out to be!  I'm glad I went to bed.  I'm also happy that I wasn't one of the accountants.

On the whole, I thought the dresses were beautiful.  The theme of the evening was less cleavage/more class.  This one was one of my favorites.
And if it has pockets, it's pure perfection.

*****

Do you agree with the most iconic restaurant that was chosen for your state?

*****

Even though I am not a whiz in the kitchen, I love to look at mouth-watering photos of food.  Sometimes I even send the pic to the Mister with a note that says... can you make this?

It was love at first sight when I spotted this cherry tomato and olive tart.

*****

If you want to be the queen of the Easter Parade, these Cadbury Egg Cupcakes could be your ticket.

And how about these Bunny Ears Cupcakes... almost too cute to eat.
I said almost.

*****

I found these two posts on Instagram.
They remind me so much of my girls.

They loved their little car so much.
It was the object of many brutal battles.

Like this little girl, my #1 always came up with creative ideas for managing her baby sister's time.

Have a great weekend.

Until next time...

  1. Eye candy for sure this morning Katie!! I love those pink TB shoes but walking in them all day? Not so sure this granny's feet would appreciate thet! And guess what the Iconic Restaurant for our state is here in my little town of Decatur, AL. Big Bob Gibson's BBQ lives up to the reputation. If you are ever in NoAla, I will treat you to a Big Bob's Stuffed Pork Potato, heaven on a plate.

  2. That definitely gave me a chuckle! The bathroom tho, I need that room in my life. That one is just gorgeous!

  3. I always look forward to your Friday Files. You find the best things. I would never leave that bedroom in the morning. I am not a morning person so that would be too good to leave. I love that first picture. That room is one of my favorites anyway and that blue bowl with the apples is simply adorable. I am awaiting my tulips and daffodils. They have broken ground. I feel like the old saying, "a watched pot never boils." I have to stop myself from looking at them every little bit. Have a great weekend.

  5. Happy Friday! I thought the same thing about Kirsten D's dress...pockets make it perfect! Great news about the gardening. We got rid of our lawn service, so I'll be sweating it out all summer. :) Have a great weekend!

  6. Happy Weekend! So glad you are seeing signs of Spring. Nothing like daffodils pushing up through last year's leaves to make these last weeks of winter bearable. Sort of. Great pics!

  7. The daffodils were in full bloom here a couple weeks ago. It was almost 80 the other day, and hard freeze warnings for tonight!! Seriously????
Okay, $150 for a coffee cup? For the guys, Ember better come with it ;-)
And, I too would be curious if the new Tory's are comfortable. I love my Miller sandals, but my other flats are not the most comfortable for walking all day. They are cute however. LOL

  8. Our daffodils are in full bloom right now. Spring is coming. That bedroom is gorgeous...stunning. Happy Friday Katie.

  9. Lots of cute stuff! My kids had to share the same set of wheels until my son graduated to a battery operated ford truck! Ha! Like you...I am most happy that spring is just days away. Sheila

  10. I had a daughter who ate in her little red car for a year - almost every meal! As for the TB shoes - don't spend the money - they are as uncomfortable as Revas are - If I had all the money back i have spent on TB shoes, I could fly to Europe and vacation for a week (and probably would not have bone spurs)! The tart looks delicious, and I also have little green sprouts peeking up thru the snow! Enjoy the weekend!

  11. Happy weekend, Katie Clooney! That would be a lovely bedroom to wake up in every day. No daffodils yet here, but I'm looking forward to them. -Jenn

  12. The iconic restaurant listed for Maryland is right down the street, and while we have eaten there no way would that be my choice. Several on the Eastern Shore of Maryland are more iconic, but I don't own the website. Anyway, the little car was a big hit at my house for both Son-sters, we even had a little gas pump where gas was always free. If you haven't seen it, Google "Girl stuck in a snow mound in a Little Tykes car"..it is less than a minute long, but funny. Enjoy. Have a great weekend.

  13. Oh, my, better than HomeGoods, that's awesome. We do have a TJ Maxx but probably not on the list to get any of their other stores. Boo! Hoo! Great post!

I have three sons........I notice that stuff cuz it happened at my house all the time!!!

  15. Great post! I've found two brands of ballet flats to be truly comfortable, Tieks (expensive, at least to me for flats, but extremely comfortable with no need to "break in") and Vince Camuto's (less than $100, last ones I purchased were $89 a few years ago).

    1. Thanks for the tip, Karen. I have heard only glowing things about Tieks. I may have to invest in a pair. Have a great weekend, Karen!

  16. Holy moly so much to take in! I agree Kristen D. nailed it...I had not seen her until well after the show and after my own recap, the theme for me was totally underwhelming (and inept apparently) haha.
Lots of good links here to look into....so cannot wait for spring. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

  17. Tried to give our Harry-Beast a dog bed when he was a puppy, he tore it to shreds. Tried again this year (he's 3), he tore it to shreds. He doesn't need a therapeutic bed, he needs a therapist. Happy Weekend

  18. So many great links! I cannot wait to while away a few hours checking them out. I love that barn/house! Fabulous! And the bedroom, oh my goodness it is beautiful!

As for that coffee cup, it seems a little ridiculous don't you think?

Love the instagram photos and that tomato tart, yummy.

    Have a fabulous day!

  19. The Rancics have a terrific interior designer.
The Cadbury Egg cupcake looks delish!!!
I used Erno Lazlo skin care products for many years after college - just another thing Jackie Kennedy and I have in common.

  20. I love the Rancic's house! A 2-story master bathroom?! I always look forward to seeing what you find to share with us in the Friday Files!

  21. Hahahaha. the kids in the bathroom! And how'd you sneak a picture of my bathroom, Katie?! I saw a photo of Kirsten Dunst the other day and thought how classy she looked - I'm with you on any dress having pockets, esp. a formal! Speaking of class, Jackie O is all that. I have a friend who always used Ernest Laszlo products. I'm too far gone. Gardening definitely grows the spirit. Those cupcakes will definitely grow the waistline. Nom, nom. Happy weekend! We have the house to ourselves for 42 hours - yay!

  22. Well, that was total fun!! I must say, you have me thinking in all kinds of directions! The restaurant from Alabama is spot on, Big Bob Gibsons BBQ, home of the original white BBQ sauce, yum! More TJX stores, and a new type of homegoods, Yay and Yay! Couldn't watch the Oscars because I am sick to death of hearing actors spew their political opinions during an entertainment show, but I'm glad to hear the classy dressing is back in style! Have a great week Katie, I hope a tomato tart and more spring sitings are in your near future!

  23. I'd be very happy with that tart! (And yes, Oscars were way wacko this year!) But great clothes.

Keep the sun shining out there. We're headed to your fair state this week!
