#1, AJ, & JFK

Hello, dear friends.  Boy, am I glad this week is over!  You'll find out why next week.

This is part two of #1 & Adorable Jonathon's visit over Easter weekend.  You can find the first part here.  We originally planned to spend Good Friday on the Cape.  Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and we woke up to a cold, rainy day.  So, we decided to go with our backup plan - John F. Kennedy Library.

Two happy campers!

I thought that the Library would either be packed or empty considering it was such a miserable day.  We lucked out and there were very few people there.

Just in case you forgot what JFK looked like.

This photo depicts the reason that we love AJ so much.  He will do anything to make our #1 laugh.

The library holds many personal photographs and movies of the family.

I remember canvassing for JFK with my Dad when I was young.  Really, really young.  Too bad I couldn't wear one of these cute numbers.

The color of this gorgeous gown is not captured in this photo.
It is stunning!

I've never seen #1 so happy to be in a library before!

The Library is situated in a beautiful spot on the water.

A good time had by all!

We then stopped for a late lunch at one of my favorite places, Rustic Kitchen.  The reason the happy couple looks like they have jaundice is because they were sitting under yellow lights.

I know two little poochies that were glad to see us get home.

We had a glass of wine, noshed on a cheese board, and called it a day.

Have a great weekend.

Until next time...

  4. You and your daughter are both stunning. She looks extremely happy, which I'm sure makes you overjoyed. I feel like, as a mom, I will feel the biggest sense of satisfaction when my kids find a partner that loves and appreciates them.
I am a little obsessed with all things JFK, so that museum would be right up my ally. Have a great weekend!

  7. What a fabulous looking cheese board! The JFK library looks incredible, especially that large glass window-wall overlooking the water. Here in Texas, I have visited both Bush libraries and the LBJ library in Austin. It is always interesting to see that slice of history! Have a good weekend!

  10. The cheese board again - I am going to have to get busy and assuage my urge for cheese and figs this weekend.
Isn't it lovely to see one's children so happy?

  11. That was a clever plan to make the most of a dreary day. I've toured the Carter library when I lived in Atlanta, and was there when they had an exhibit of all the first ladies inauguration gowns. It was wonderful! Glad you had a good time!

Every time I see "JFK" I'm reminded of a true story about my momma...we were traveling to my sister's to visit with her one day a few years ago when momma asked me to pick up a book for her at her library they were holding for her when we got back home, I asked her the name of the book and she said "Killing KFC"! I said you mean Killing JFK? She said, of course! Guess where we ate lunch that day? KFC!!!!!

  22. I've always thought your baby's boyfriend looks just like Brett Baier on Fox News!!
and guess what I saw last week? Was in Dallas and saw a man driving the car that JFK was killed in. He owns it and rides it around the area around the grassy noll where it happened. Flags and all flying from the convertible. I actually gasped when I saw it!!
