How to Age Gracefully

Hello dear friends.  Happy Friday.  Two of my classmates from high school posted this video on Facebook.  I liked it so much, I watched it three times.  What can I say?  I'm a slow learner.  I hope that you enjoy it too.

This would be my advice.

Dear 43 year old,

Don't worry about being a "perfect" mother.  You're doing the best you can.

Sincerely,

A 50+ year old supermodel trophy wife

What advice would you give to a younger person?

Until next time...

  2. Very sweet and really enjoyed it!! OK, advice to give......Hum 1. take care of your skin (i.e. no sun) 2. Be authentic and love yourself first 3. Don't be afraid to try anything you really feel passionate about, you don't want to be 75 and wondering what it...... 4. Be kind- everyone is fighting some kind of battle, big and small 5. Lastly YOUTH IS WASTED ON THE YOUNG....LOL...oh to be 18 again!!!!!! I could go on and on, but this is it for now:) Enjoy your weekend!

PS Love the "stay weird" and from a 72 year old to boot!

  5. Always invest in "good shoes". Even if your weight goes up and down, your feet will look fabulous for your lifetime.

  6. This made me laugh, especially the comments from the 90 something men.
Advice to a 40 year old me: Don't compare your body or face to the female cast of "Friends."

  8. ha! Katie! I always think you write your posts for me :) except i'm 44. :) not 43 :) ok now my advice...
enjoy today...you never know if its going to be your last. enjoy your body...because in ten years you'll wish you had the same one. enjoy parenthood...the good, the bad, and the ugly because the days are long but the years are short. i'd give anything to do it all again even the sleepless nights with twins. I wish somebody had told me then that i'd miss it and want it back.

  9. My advice:
Always have a plan - for today, tomorrow, next month, next year and ten years down the road.
Don't underestimate the importance of the words "thank you," "I'm sorry" and "I don't know."
Be generous, especially with family and friends.
Take responsibility for all your actions.

  10. This is why I started my own business when I was over 50 and had lost my paralegal job of 30 years. It was my push and I asked myself - what if I live to be 100, I will regret I did not start now - so I just started!

  11. Opened my little antique booth here in Dallas at 67 years old; after over 40 years of corporate America. My advice? Find your happy place and listen to your heart, not the nay-sayers ;)

  13. Dear 50+
I have already taken the advice of the 80+ beauty and have cultivated a much younger friend.
    Your friend the 60+

  14. I love this! Stay weird! Don't throw away your Legos! Back up your computer NOW! (Wish I had learned that last lesson sooner...) My dear friend's darling mother always used to say "Whatever you do to your face, do to your neck." That lovely lady aged beautifully and always looked decades younger than her age.
Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!

  15. Hats off for this video. Aging doesn't have to be a grueling experience. We can all age gracefully with physical activity, choosing to eat healthy and having a positive mindset.
