The Almighty Text

Happy Sunday, dear friends!  We have had a cold, rainy weekend here but we have sunshine in our hearts because we have our little Chowdah to keep us smiling.  He's still not completely housebroken but that's okay - it just makes life more interesting.

Who could get mad at this sweet little face?

Now on to the subject of this post... texting.  The Mister and I are the worst texters in the world.  Ask our girls.  We get very frustrated that our fingers will not move as quickly or in the right direction as we would like.  It takes us about 10 minutes to type a couple of sentences. Auto correct is a pain in the neck.  And for having the word correct in its name - it rarely is.

The Mister has a rule when it comes to the almighty text.  He will text back twice and then he goes dark.  So the girls have learned that they better get all their whining for money over with in the first text.

You probably have seen these funny texts on Facebook.  If you have, move on to the next blog and have a great day.  If you haven't - prepare yourself for a chuckle.

The Mister and I are not ashamed to admit that we have used these tactics in the past.

Been there, done that.

Has anyone seen the episode of Modern Family where Phil thought WTF meant "why the face?"

I would be very curious to know what expression my girls have used the most in their young lives - lol or hashtag.  Could be a tie.

Again, been there, done that.

Thanks Lifebuzz for the great material.

Enjoy your Sunday!

  1. SO funny.... I have had a few snafus of my own. It took quite some time for me to get used to texting on the iphone (easier and more accurate on the blackberry) so one I remember was when we were building our house and I texted my builder to tell him I needed to show him a few things and I told him I needed to show him a few thongs....talk about embarrassing! These are really funny...I am with you prefer to keep texts to a few words (less room for error)! Have a wonderful Sunday, your newest member is too cute!

  3. Love it!! I have to admit....I can text just about as fast as my girls, and yes, I do know what most of those abbreviations mean (learned the hard way a few times myself). I think it is partially because I was an admin, so typing is just second nature to me. Hubby on the other hand...not so much. He still hen pecks at his computer keyboard. Drives me insane!! Not sure how he gets anything done. I learned you had better be proficient at texting once your kiddos are off to college...sometimes the only way you will talk to them (sad, but true for most).

  9. Katie, Have wanted to send condolences and love since learning of Gypsy's passing- We had to put our standard poodle to sleep last October and I'm still not over it- They certainly occupy a special place in our hearts and are sorely missed when they are gone- Enter Chowdah!!! He is just so cute! I am certain he will help fill that spot Gypsy held in your family and help make lots of new memories for you all in your new Ma. home! Barbara P from Ma

  11. So funny Katie;) I have recently changed to an Android and I'm still figuring it out. Sometimes I have no idea WTF my kids are saying;)!! Such a cute picture of your pup. Hopefully the weather will warm up a little for you. It's supposed to get into the 70's this week here in Seattle. I'm looking forward to some sunshine to dry up all the mud. xxleslie

  13. I have trouble with texting, too. I don't mind if I'm near my laptop because then I can type with a normal keyboard on imsg. LOVE husband's "two texts and then it goes dark". Great idea!
