Home Office Inspiration

When I began blogging last summer, I set up shop at my kitchen table.  I did this for two reasons; the first being I could catch the girls when they were at home to bribe beg them for computer help, which I needed on a continuous basis.  I admit to being not the sharpest pencil in the box when it comes to technology.  The second reason was that I could spread all my stuff such as magazines, notes, books, wine glasses, reading glasses, wine glasses, (yeah, I know I said it twice), etc., out on the table.

So when the girls left for college, I decided to take over their upstairs den where they would watch TV and bicker hang out with each other.

It's a pretty nice room with a love seat, couch, ottoman, chest, and a desk.  I was pretty happy with it.  That is until I decided to blog about home offices and started researching them.  This Pinterest thing is really going to start costing the Mister some serious do-re-mi.  He just doesn't know it yet.

Anyway, here are my favorite photos compliments of my beloved Pinterest.

Great ceiling!  Desk chairs don't look too comfy though.

The cabinetry really makes this intimate space.

Darling!

Pretty space but too much plant maintenance for me!

Lately, I have become so attracted to this color.  Also, love the desk chair.

This looks like a work space that Diane Keaton would have in one of her fabulous movies.

Cute clover chair.

Another great looking chair.  Like this color too.

So, some people actually get dressed when they work at home?

There's that green again!  But you know why I picked this picture.  "Himself/herself" sitting to the right of the desk just melts my heart.

This weekend, give somebody else a chance to have some fun on Pinterest.

  1. I agree...having a beautiful workspace is conducive to putting out great work! Thats the argument you must present to the mister when the time comes to expand beyond the kitchen!
That first one is dreamy and ditto the Garnier one....though if that were me, you would see me in my pjs and robe and fuzzy slippers, hair up in a ponytail...lol. Great inspirations!

  2. These are great! I really love the first one (no surprise with how crazy I am for color) but agree that I would need new chairs as Little Child would have those scratched in a heart beat. I blog from my sofa (or at my office - whoopsies) but have thought quite a bit about where I would build a desk area if I was to start staying at home with a bebe so I could have a place where I worked a few hours during nap time, etc and try to stay unplugged the rest of the day. I will definitely need to keep this bookmarked for inspiration!!

  8. These are wonderful home office ideas. The desk chairs are chic and guess it would be more comfortable for one to sit here if you put a fabric cushion in it.

  9. The first one is magnificent; the transparent chairs complement with the interiors. A home office needs a relaxing, conducive working ambiance like this one. Otherwise, one would feel like working in a boring office.
